Buddy Bulletin Board
The Buddy Bulletin Board is a core building in Tales of Dacardia that allows you to complete a set of tasks each day. Completing these tasks will reward you with Pearly Neggs in Tales of Dacardia and Neopoints on the main site!
The Buddy Bulletin Board is built as part of the "A Pearl-fect Opportunity" questline while your town is level 1.
Tasks
Once you have built the Buddy Bulletin Board, five random tasks will be generated for you immediately upon opening the app each day.
Receiving Tasks
When you have tasks that have not yet been completed, the Buddy Bulletin Board will display an "exclamation point" icon above it.
Simply press on the Buddy Bulletin Board or the icon above it to open up the list of tasks!
Tasks are generated automatically at midnight NST during US standard time (mid November to early March) and at 1am NST during US daylight saving time (mid March to early November). You do not need to do anything special to receive the tasks, and can even complete them before having viewed them!
Task Structure
Each task will have an instruction, a quantity, and a picture. The instruction and quantity will tell you exactly what you need to do; see the "Types of Tasks" section next for more detail on completing them.
The picture represents who from the island "posted" that task on the Board. Any Neopet or NPC you have unlocked can appear as a picture. The picture is just a bit of worldbuilding; unless the task includes the name of one of your Neopets in the instruction, you can complete it using any Neopet!
If you receive the same task more than once on the same day, you only have to perform that action once to complete both tasks. For example, if you receive two separate tasks to feed the same Neopet, feeding that pet will count towards both tasks!
Types of Tasks
There are several different types of tasks you can receive.
Debris Clearing
Instruction: Clear debris from the shore.
Quantity: 1 to 9, but never more than the amount on the shore at the time you receive tasks.
"Go" Button Destination: Overworld view.
How To Complete: Simply click debris crates; you don't actually need to gather the resources inside it, though you should!
Resource Gathering
Instruction: Gather a specific basic or common resource from a gathering site.
Quantity: 1 or 2
"Go" Button Destination: The relevant gathering site.
How To Complete: Simply finish gathering that resource; you will receive credit even if you started gathering on a previous day. You can use any Neopet, even if a specific one's picture is shown.
Play a Minigame
Instruction: Get at least three stars in a specific building's minigame. Minigames at the Antiquity-Fixity, Molten Mixer, and Crabby Arena are all possible, but only for buildings you have built.
Quantity: 1
"Go" Button Destination: The relevant building.
How To Complete: "three stars" refers to the final score you receive at the very end of the game. For the Antiquity-Fixity and Molten Mixer minigames, it is therefore easiest to attempt this by crafting a single item rather than multiple.
Take a Picture
Instruction: Take a picture in Photo Mode, which is unlocked from questline "Picture Perfect". Sometimes the task will be to take any picture, and sometimes it will specify using a specific filter or pose.
Quantity: 1
"Go" Button Destination: Nowhere! It's seemingly broken.
How To Complete: Take a photo in Photo Mode. If a filter or pose is required, you can find the relevant tab at the bottom of the screen. You do not need to save or share the photo; you can simply press "Take Another" then exit and the task will be completed. If you have multiple different Photo Mode requests, these can be satisfied by taking a single photo that meets all the requested requirements.
Spin the Wheel of Prizes
Instruction: Spin the Wheel of Prizes.
Quantity: 1
"Go" Button Destination: The Wheel of Prizes.
How To Complete: Simply spin the Wheel! Since both the Wheel of Prizes and Buddy Bulletin Board reset at the same time each day, your daily free spin should count for this.
Crafting (Self)
This task type was seemingly removed in version 1.5.5 released on February 13, 2025, but re-added in version 1.6.0 released on March 19, 2025.
Instruction: Craft a specific item from a specific building.
Quantity: 1
"Go" Button Destination: The relevant crafting building: Omelette Slab or Antiquity-Fixity. (The Rainbow Treehouse does not have an option to craft yourself.)
How To Complete: You must craft the assigned item at the assigned crafting building, and you must play the microgame at that building. Assigning a Neopet will not complete the task. The item will always be one you have the recipe for, but you may not have the ingredients.
Prior to version 1.5.5, the task would not specify what item to make; any item was sufficient!
Alas, such an easy and straightforward task is no longer possible!
Crafting (Neopet)
This task type was seemingly removed on or shortly after February 14, 2025, but re-added in version 1.6.0 released on March 19, 2025.
Instruction: Craft any item from a specific building. The item will always be one you have the recipe for (including recipes that use ingredients from seasonal events), though you may not have the ingredients.
Quantity: 1 or 2
"Go" Button Destination: The relevant crafting building: Omelette Slab, Antiquity-Fixity, or Rainbow Treehouse.
How To Complete: Craft the required item, but you must choose the "Assign Pet" option, and choose the specific Neopet listed on the task. Playing the microgame will not complete the task. If you are missing any ingredients that you are not able to gather, you might be lucky enough that the missing ingredient(s) is for sale in the Pearly Parlour. Otherwise, you may simply not be able to complete the task!
Prior to version 1.5.5 released on February 13, 2025, you could craft any item to complete the task.
Alas, such an easy and straightforward task is no longer possible!
Building Materials
This task type was seemingly removed in version 1.5.5 released on February 13, 2025, but re-added in version 1.6.0 released on March 19, 2025.
Instruction: Obtain building materials.
Quantity: 1
"Go" Button Destination: Molten Mixer.
How To Complete: Although the task instruction says "craft," you can complete this task by earning building materials from any method: Molten Mixer timer, Molten Mixer microgame, or won in other ways such as from the Wheel of Prizes or as a quest prize.
Feeding
This task type was seemingly removed on or shortly after February 27, 2025, but reintroduced in version 1.6.0 released on March 19, 2025.
Instruction: Feed a specific food to a specific Neopet on your island. The food item will always be one you have the recipe for (including recipes that use ingredients from seasonal events), though you may not have the ingredients.
Quantity: 1 or 2
"Go" Button Destination: Dialogue menu with the specific Neopet to be fed.
How To Complete: Feed the required item to the required Neopet. The feeding menu does not show item names, so you will need to memorize the image. If you do not have the item, you may need to craft it. If you do not have the ingredients to craft the item and do not have a way to get them, you might be lucky enough that the omelette itself or the missing ingredient(s) is for sale in the Pearly Parlour. Otherwise, you may simply not be able to complete the task!
Prior to version 1.5.5 released on February 13, 2025, you could feed any item to complete the task.
Alas, such an easy and straightforward task is no longer possible!
Retired Tasks
Some tasks could previously be posted at the Buddy Bulletin Board, but are no longer possible.
Play a Minigame (Perfect)
This task type was added in version 1.5.5 released on February 13, 2025, but removed in version 1.6.0 released on March 19, 2025.
Instruction: Get a perfect score in a specific building's minigame. Minigames at the Antiquity-Fixity, Molten Mixer, and Crabby Arena are all possible, but only for buildings you have built.
Quantity: 1
"Go" Button Destination: The relevant building.
How To Complete: A "perfect score" refers to the final score you receive at the very end of the game, not the game displaying purple "Perfect" text while playing the game. For the Antiquity-Fixity and Molten Mixer minigames, it is therefore easiest to attempt this by crafting a single item rather than multiple.
Rewards
Once you have completed a task, the Buddy Bulletin Board will display a "present" icon above it. You can click on it to claim your rewards for any completed tasks.
Daily Task Rewards
Completing each daily task will earn you 5 in Tales of Dacardia, and 5,000 Neopoints on site.
A completed task will show up with a picture of Pearly Neggs x5 instead of a "Go" button.
Clicking on the Pearly Negg icon will claim the prize for the task. First, a pop-up displaying your in-app Pearly Negg rewards will appear. Afterward, a pop-up displaying your on-site Neopoint reward will be shown.
If you have not linked NeoPass, instead of a Neopoint pop-up, you will get a pop-up that your Neopoint reward cannot be claimed yet.
Once a task's rewards have been claimed, the task will have a green checkmark stamp over the Pearly Negg icon, and its text and picture will be faded out.
All five of these tasks have been completed!
Challenge Rewards
In addition to rewards for completing each daily task, each week you can claim "Challenge" rewards. A challenge is simply completing five tasks; for every challenge you complete, you can earn 25 in-app and 5,000 Neopoints on-site.
You can complete up to five challenges per calendar week, starting at the beginning of the day on Mondays and ending at the end of the day on Sundays. The five tasks per challenge do not all need to be completed on the same day; for example, you could complete a challenge by doing three tasks on Monday then two tasks on Tuesday.
Challenge rewards can be claimed by clicking the red money bags on the top bar after five or more daily tasks have been completed.
A completed challenge with its reward claimed will appear as a green checkmark. A completed challenge with its reward not yet claimed will appear as a fully coloured red money bag. A challenge that has not yet been completed will appear as a slightly smaller, faded red money bag.

There is a final reward of 100 in-app and 25,000 Neopoints on-site for completing all five challenges before the end of the week! To claim this, simply click the "25000" money bag image in the top right corner.
On-Site Notifications
If you have linked your NeoPass to Tales of Dacardia, then completing a daily task, challenge, or final challenge prize will result in a Neomail confirming your prize. You do not need to open the Neomail to receive the prize; it will be added to your on-hand total automatically around the end of the day that you received it.
Unfortunately, the Neomail is identical for all on-site Neopoint prizes, and does not specify exactly how many Neopoints were awarded or for what.
Timing
The Buddy Bulletin Board resets with five new tasks each day at midnight NST during US standard time (mid November to early March) and at 1am NST during US daylight saving time (mid March to early November). A countdown to this time is displayed directly above the list of tasks.
Challenge progress resets each calendar week, starting at the beginning of the day on Mondays and ending at the end of the day on Sundays. A countdown to this time is displayed in the top right corner.
