[wɒnpiː] - adjective
Abbreviation of "one-player". Refers to Battledome matches you can participate in without another player's involvement. The computer takes the role of your opponent; there are several 1P opponents you can choose from, each with their own weapons and attacks.
Example Usage:
"1P battling can get a little boring, but it's good practice."

[tuːpiː] - adjective
Abbreviation for "two-player". In the Battledome, used to refer to a match between two users' pets, as opposed to one fought against a computerised opponent.
Example Usage:
"In 2P fights, your opponent is probably going to be savvy enough to see this strategy coming and counter it."

AARG
[ɛɪɛɪaːdʒiː] - noun
Abbreviation of "Alien Aisha Ray Gun". A Battledome weapon originally from the Smugglers' Cove.
Example Usage:
"You have an AARG in your gallery? How much did you pay for it?"

AAS
[ɛɪɛɪɛs] - noun
Abbreviation for 'Alien Aisha Scrambler'. A Battledome weapon, released at the Smuggler's Cove, that fully blocks light and air attacks.
Example Usage:
"An AAS is a bit expensive, but very good at what it does!"

Ability
[ə'bɪlɪtiː] - noun
A power that can be used in the Battledome. Most abilities are obtained by redeeming faerie blessings (which can be obtained by opening Bottled Faeries).
Example Usage:
"My Usul got a new ability today. Now she can heal herself in the Battledome!"

[ɛɪsiːtiːɛs] - noun
Abbreviation for "Altador Cup Throwing Star". A weapon available in the Altador Cup prize shop in Year Fourteen.
Example Usage:
"I spend a lot of hours playing Yooyuball over the summer, but in the end I get rewarded with prizes like the ACTS!"

[ɛɪɛfsiː] - noun
Abbreviation of "Air Faerie Crown". A Battledome weapon that was originally obtained by buying real-life Neopets trading cards.
Example Usage:
"I've still got an AFC knocking around somewhere. Will it be any good for this fight, or should I buy a newer weapon?"

Agility
[ə'dʒɪlɪtiː] - noun
One of a Neopet's Battledome stats. Sometimes referred to as movement, this stat is intended to represent a pet's speed. Currently, the only use for the stat is to meet the requirements to use the Heavy Robe of Thievery.
Example Usage:
"This quest raises your pet's agility as a reward."

Anagram Sword
[ænəgræm sɔ:d] - noun
An umbrella term for the six swords whose names feature anagrammed elements: Sword of Skardsen, Sword of Ari, Sword of Reif, Sword of Tawre, Sword of Thare and Sword of Thigl.
Example Usage:
"I only found out about anagram swords recently - it took me ages to figure out that 'Skardsen' was actually 'darkness' but scrambled!"

Anegg
[ɛɪnɛg] - noun
Abbreviation for 'Armoured Negg'. A magical negg which, when fed to your pet, awards a defence point and one of several defence items.
Example Usage:
"I used an Anegg the other day, but it gave me yet another Omelette Shield."

[ɛɪpiː] - noun
Abbreviation of "Attack Pea". A Battledome weapon originally obtained at the Smugglers' Cove. A small but surprisingly powerful vegetable.
Example Usage:
"If I had the money for an AP, I'd... probably spend it on something else, actually. It's pretty expensive these days."

Abbreviation for Sword of Ari. A Battledome item available from the Hidden Tower.

Abbreviation for "Altador Strength Potion". A magical item that was a prize for completing the Faeries' Ruin plot.
Nothing to do with snakes.

(1) An arena where Neopets can take part in play-fights using a variety of weapons and magic.
(2) To take part in Battledome fights.
Example Usage:
(1) "See you in the Battledome, okay? I'm gonna win this time!"
(2) "I spend a lot of time Battledoming with my friends."

Battledomer
['bætəldoʊmɜː] - noun
A player who enjoys fighting in the Battledome, the arena for play-fights between Neopets. Many people try out the Battledome, but this word is usually applied to more serious hobbyists who save up for good weapons and training.

"I have a friend who's a Battledomer. She's going to love the new weapon that was announced today!"

BD Pet
[biː'diːpɛt] - noun
(1) The Neopet most often used as a fighter in the Battledome, out of the pets a person owns.
(2) A Neopet whose Battledome stats are high, making them particularly suitable as a fighter.
Example Usage:
(1) "Lila is my BD pet. Her stats are higher than any of my other Neopets', so it makes sense."
(2) "I'm thinking of getting a new Neopet. Species and colour don't really matter, but I'd like a good BD pet."

Abbreviation of "Battledomer". A player who enjoys fighting in the Battledome, the arena for play-fights between Neopets. Many people try out the Battledome, but this term is usually applied to more serious hobbyists who save up for good weapons and training.

"I just keep getting my pets' stats raised by the lab. I'm totally not a BDer, so stats aren't much use to me."

Abbreviation for "Bent Fork". A retired Battledome item that will disable all weapons with "fork" or "trident" in their names until the end of the battle.
Example Usage:
"At first I thought BF destroyed all forks and tridents permanently, but then I found out they come back after the battle."

Abbreviation of "Black Frost Cannon". A Battledome weapon that may freeze an opponent (leave them unable to attack for a turn).

Bless
[blɛs] - verb
To grant a new Battledome ability to your Neopet. The name comes from the sole method of granting abilities in the original Battledome, which was to open a Bottled Faerie, earning that Faerie's blessing.
Example Usage:
"There's an avatar you can get by blessing a Shoyru."

Abbreviation for "Brynn's Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting". A Battledome item that was awarded as a prize after the Faeries' Ruin plot.

Abbreviation for "Box of Clockwork Grundos". A Battledome weapon that was originally available from the Hidden Tower. Releases random Clockwork Grundos into battle.

Abbreviation for "Bow of Destiny". A Battledome weapon, given out as a rare prize from Neoquest II.
Example Usage:

Abbreviation for "Bag of Healing Dust". An item that can be used once per Battledome match to heal your pet.
Example Usage:
"It's easier to heal a Kacheek in the Battledome, but I like my pet as an Aisha, so I bought a BoHD for the upcoming fight."

Abbreviation for "Bracelet of Kings". A Battledome item that could attack the opponent, heal your pet or protect you from damage.
Example Usage:

Abbreviation for "Bag of Lenny Healing Seeds". A Battledome item that will heal your pet if he or she happens to be a Lenny.
Example Usage:
"I morphed my battling pet into a Lenny just so she can use the BoLHS. She's still getting used to having feathers..."

Bomb
[bɒm] - noun
A Battledome weapon that can only be used once (either a single time, after which it is gone, or once per battle) and that deals a high amount of icons relative to similarly priced multiple-use equipment.
Example Usage:
"The best time to use a bomb is when your opponent is already vulnerable."

BoMS
[biːoʊɛmɛs] - noun
Abbreviation for "Bottle of Magic Sand". A Battledome weapon originally available at the Smugglers' Cove. Not to be confused with the ordinary bottles of sand winnable from the Tiki Tack Tombola.
Example Usage:
"Using a BoMS isn't really going to cut it against serious opponents these days."

Boost
[buːst] - noun
The range that a pet's Strength or Defence stat falls into. Each range is named after the lowest number in it, so a pet whose Strength is between 35 and 54 is said to have the 35 Strength boost.
Example Usage:
"My Chia falls into the 125 Strength boost."
"I'm training my Wocky so she can move up to the next Defence boost, but training is pretty expensive for her these days."

BP
[biːpiː] - noun
Abbreviation for "Battle Plunger". A weapon that was available from the Smugglers' Cove, capable of draining the opponent's Hit Points.
Example Usage:
"If I had enough Neopoints, I would buy a BP. It's fun AND deadly!"
